Dimethicone

Dimethicone is the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) name for polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), a linear silicone polymer. CAS number 9006-65-9. In cosmetics, dimethicone delivers smooth feel, spreadability, water resistance, and protective film formation. It is non-comedogenic, non-irritating, and stable across a wide pH range. Available in viscosity grades from 5 cSt to 300,000 cSt, with each grade serving specific formulation roles.
