Organosilicon
Organosilicon compounds are chemical substances containing silicon–carbon (Si–C) bonds. All cosmetic silicones — dimethicone, phenyl trimethicone, amodimethicone, and others — are organosilicon compounds. The organic substituents (methyl, phenyl, aminopropyl groups) bonded to the silicon backbone determine each silicone's specific physical, sensory, and functional properties.
