Phenyl Trimethicone

Phenyl Trimethicone is the INCI name for phenyl-substituted silicones — siloxane polymers with phenyl groups attached. CAS number 2116-84-9. The phenyl groups deliver higher refractive index (1.45–1.50) than standard dimethicone (1.40), providing visible gloss and shine in cosmetic formulations. Also boosts SPF when used in sunscreen formulations and provides heat resistance for hair styling products.
